New carbon bowsprit project

After a long time no posts here is some fresh breeze in our dusty Internet adventures

Today I started with the new bowsprit project.
The 80mm carbon tube is in.
To make a backing plate for inside the tube where I want to fix the screacher roller I had higher spirits to my aide.
After measuring around the house I found a perfect wine bottle with an OD. of 72mm. Just what I needed.
I taped the bottle with tape used for closing boxes, PE so the epoxy will not stick too much.
One layer of UD carbon, one layer of BD glass finished with a second layer of UD carbon all fit snug between peelply.
Let's hope the best of it.
